Important Announcement regarding my recent actions...
I remember looking up pictures of the 69 camaro to show a friend in 2007, I happened upon a few pictures of the new (at the time) camaro concept.
All the pictures were hosted on a well-known website named Camaro5. Mindz joined up and began to converse with the small, tight-knit community here. After seeing the pictures, I knew the camaro was going to be my next car, it was just a matter of when. Part of my time was spent posting, while other parts were watching many people come and go. Often people would come, chat for a bit and then leave, sometimes returning, other times just disappearing. Still, the site was a great way to pass the time. The network of people I have met from this site has been amazing. We all take care of our own, even Paris... How, I have no idea, but we do. On the launch day of the camaro, our site exploded with new people. Real people, bots, trolls, fanboys, etc. all came flocking to the site. Everything needed to be kicked up a notch. I guess that's why they made me a mod. 'Most of my posts in the beginning were serious conversations, evolving to word games and mindless babble, and finally coming to rest as a mix of both serious and joking posts. Posting back in the day, and posting today is very different. All of the posts before launch were conversations about speculation and good hearted fun. Recently, we've been overrun by mustang fanboys and people who can't read or don't care about the rules. The thing that bugs me the most is that I can't tell if they're trying to be ignorant/obtuse or are just born with it and I'm sad for their parents. Of course, not everyone can be perfect, that's what we have mods for, to help cleanse the gene pool of our members. Finally, I became a mod and could merge threads on top of each other talking about the same thing with the same link, etc. myself instead of flagging them and waiting for the cavalry. The events in California have been great. Pulling almost 40+ cars everytime we've had a major event. Having bbqs for 43 car owners and their +1's, 29" pizzas being delivered 4 at a time on hand trucks, and cruising down over the Bay Bridge with 40 5th gens is a good time no matter where you are. Every time I drive my car, the permagrin returns, even if I just think about driving it it. Coming back to touch on the boards, I feel that we're by far the largest and best unofficial site covering the 5th gen camaro. Lots of other sites claim to be the best, but have they put on a Fest yet? Until we put on C5FII, I know I will be saving my money to make sure I can go wherever it is held. Bumping elbows with such not only members of the forums, but members of the extended "family" (Scott, Cheryl, Kevin, Ed) is always a good time as they all have great stories. Now, go back and read just the first letter of every sentence until the bowtie smilies. California Family: You guys are awesome, I love spending time at meets and cruises. It's relaxing and there's always good times/food/ideas being passed around. Tran/MarkLS2: Thanks for hosting this site that has brought so many of us together. You guys are the reason camaro5 has become such a big success. Scott Settlemire: Thank you believing in the Camaro and helping to bring this car back. You're an inspiration to us all and a hoot at dinner parties. Can't wait until November this year. I have my car and wouldn't mind you christening it with your John Hancock. Mod Squad: Keep on Truckin! Good times. I'ma leave it at that. Fantasy Footballers: New guys (and gal), it should be a great season. Old timers...I'll be moving up the podium this year. Stopping Randall cold and usurping at least one of the 2 guys standing higher than me. "BEARSGTA, the Wheel Deal" To the vendors who have worked on the Rush: Thanks for everything you guys have done. I love my car and it wouldn't be what it is without your helping hands. Everyone else: Don't get on my bad side... Seriously, I hope to meet a whole bunch of new faces at C5Fest next year. My views don't necessarily reflect those of Camaro5.com and it's administrators. |

I think your a little full of yourself. complaining about us "mustang fanboys" posting on here. I ask the question. Why make a "general auto discussion" board if you dont want the mustang mentioned on this site.
You sound like someone who cant take competition. Just saying.......... |
