Why all the ZL1 hate?

I've been on so many sites and seen so many negative comments about the ZL1. Sure the car is heavy. Sure, it isn't as quick as it should be. If the GT500 hadn't come out with it's super engine...would there be as much hate? Every time I see a ZL1 video on youtube, I see comments like "it's ok, but the mustang would kill it". The thing I don't understand is why so many people who own 5th gen SS's or 1le's, lash out at the ZL1s. Aren't we all in the same family?

The ZL1 was designed to be a great all around car. I see nothing wrong with an 11 second capable street car that's comfortable to, and from the track.

I, for one, am proud of my purchase. The attention it gets proves that it isn't as bad as people think it is.

Read all the reviews by the experts, that tells a different story.

A lot of opinions are biased by the need for justification.

ZL1 owners who think the ZL1 is the best (me included) have to think so to justify our purchase of one. GT500 owners have to denigrate the ZL1 to justify spending their money on the top Mustang. Some of the Camaro SS owners on here who question the ZL1's performance superiority versus their SS do so because they don't own or can't afford a ZL1 - or want to justify why they should keep their SS instead of trading up to a ZL1.

Sounds like a good reason to me. I think my ZL1 is the best thing since sliced bread.... Why, because I spend an arm and leg on it and it took me 2 years saving and my previous pride and joy to get it.

I take all criticism with a grain of salt. This car is more than capable in the right hands. I will probably never be able to drive it to its full capabilities but I can keyboard race anyone in the world and win.

I don't understand why any one would hate on either cars. The GT500 looks sweet and is fast as hell. The ZL1 looks bad ass, is fast and the GT500 doesn't stand a chance against it on a track. But straight line is a different story.
But I could understand why people who drive GT500s hate the ZL1s and vice versa. It's kind of like where I play baseball, I hate playing teams that are really good because it means my team has no room for error, same thing with cars! you mess up just a bit in a race, and you're done.
That's just my opinion.

It amazes me that no one complained about the Cadillac CTS-V the way they do with this car. They are both basically the same car. The stang is a great car...whether it's the 5.0 or the GT500, but I don't regret not getting one. The chances of seeing a '13 GT500, or a ZL1 on the street, are very slim anyways...and I like it that way

im with this.. the majority of the people who own ZL1s will never push them the way they are meant to be driven.. but you can bet your last dollar every GT500 owner will bring it to the track or street race it to show off the purpose of that vehicle.. I wouldn't mind owning either car, I think they're both great..
