LS3 Rough Idle

Hello

I am still in doubt about the "normal rough idle" on the LS3, could this be related?

Thanks

#PI0090A: Intermittent Engine Hesitation or Flutter
without DTC (Inspect and Correct Intake Camshaft
Position (CMP) Sensor Bank 1 Connector Terminals for
Intermittent Conditions or Poor Connections) - (May

Subject: Intermittent Engine Hesitation or Flutter Without DTC
(Inspect and Correct Intake Camshaft Position (CMP)
Sensor Bank 1 Connector Terminals for Intermittent
Conditions or Poor Connections

Condition/Concern
Some customers may comment on an intermittent engine hesitation or flutter.
This condition may be caused by the intake camshaft position (CMP) sensor bank 1 connector
terminals having intermittent conditions or poor connections. This will result in the engine control
module (ECM) temporarily being unable to determine engine position and it will stop fueling and
sparking. The ECM will require at least one engine revolution to resynchronize (resync) and if it
does, it will not set a DTC

Not related. They just idle rough as the nature of the beast. Plus, the motor mounts are the consistency of jello, so a little engine shake is more noticeable with the engine flopping around on such soft mounts.

That would be an intermittent problem in the bulletin. The rough idle is there all the time.

If this makes anyone feel any better...all the 2009-2010 Silverado, Tahoe, Yukons etc. with the V8 5.3L, 6.0L, 6.2L we had in here had the same rough idle as the Camaro V8 LS3

I think this is right. It's a big motor and the stock cam is slightly big. Lots of people here have mistaken the rough idle for an actual issue.

A pronounced stutter on acceleration would be a different story, I think.

Actually my 09 Silverado runs very smooth...no rough idle what so ever.

After you put your cam in you will not think about it anymore!

The only thing I've noticed is a slight twitch at idle every now and then from the engine, otherwise it's been pretty smooth. Is that normal?

Thanks for posting this. Hopefully the very sporadic rough idle issue is gone for my car.
Can you take a picture of the connector you are talking about?

So this is only for the v6 LLT engine? I was hoping it was relevant to my LS3 but I checked it out and it did not seem loose. It looks like I would have to drop the starter in order to disconnect the plug and get a good look at it. Should I drop the starter and check it out?
