DRIVER EDUCATION AT GRANDSPORT

“Driver Education, Tune and Test Day”
October 25, 2009
Grand Sport Speedway
Hitchcock, Texas

San Jacinto Corvette Club is happy to offer a one-day driving experience at Grand Sport Speedway (www.grandsportspeedway.com) in Hitchcock, Texas. The event will be limited to 60 cars, broken into four run groups with twenty-minute sessions to give everyone ample track time. Participants will drive in run sessions with drivers of similar driving experience. Novice drivers will have instruction to maximize a learning experience and their initial track time will be in a “lead follow” format. Our goal is to be better and safer drivers on the street and track. Unsafe driving will not be tolerated and may lead to ejection from the track and facility without refund.
All participants must be at least18 years old and present a valid driver’s license. Helmets with a Snell Rating 2000 will be required of all participants while on the track, and all cars will be required to pass a technical safety inspection. Cost is $110.00 per car per day, and lunch will be provided for $10.00 per person. Maximum drivers per car is two and drivers must be in the same run group. It is recommended that participants bring folding chairs and ample water to stay hydrated. No alcoholic beverages are permitted during the event or on track property.
Timing: San Jacinto will set up electronic timing with a electronic display board for the final run session of the day. Drivers will be allowed multi timed runs with timed results email to participating drivers.
Directions: South on I45 to exit 15. Stay on feeder; first street pass light is FM2004 turn right onto 2004. Go through Hitchcock, across Hwy 6, two miles after Hwy 6 turn left at “Grand Sport Speedway” sign to track. Gate opens at 8:00 am for registration and tech. Driver’s meeting begins at 9:00am.
