Xpel vs. SunTek

The closest, experienced Xpel installer sent me the following in an email:

I use all precut patterns from Xpel software cut on Xpel Ultimate PPF and
SunTek clearcoated Paint Protection Film. The SunTek film has a 5 year
manufacturer's warranty and the Xpel Ultimate has a 10 year. I typically
use the Xpel on light cars as it resists discoloring slightly better, and I
use the SunTek on dark cars as it is much more forgiving and leaves less
distortion in the adhesive.

Do any of y'all have experience with SunTek? I have read plenty about Xpel, but since my ZL1 is black...

Thanks

My installer uses both and said he likes suntek on darker cars as well. He claimed except for warranty they are both equally excellent. I went with the suntek on my black zl1

I have SunTek, probably from the same guy you're talking to. No issues

I have SunTek on my 2014 Red Hot ZL1. It has only been three months but I am happy with it so far. It looks great and people do not notice it until I point it out to them.

I've used both for just over a year now. The Xpel ultimate is definitely thicker which will probably provide a better buffer if it was struck by something and is warranted for ten years vs five but is also more expensive than Suntek. So far they both are working the same on both vehicles after over a year and no yellowing on either. The Installer, Detail by Design from Atlanta likes both but said the Suntek is a little easier to install.
