Mine rusted from the lower pad/rotor contact point out to the wheel. I got some high temp silver paint-taped everything up and painted it-what a PITA. For the most part it's still OK,just a few spots peeled. Cars not a DD and garage kept though!

We just got our Camaro a couple months ago... After I got it home I noticed that there was rust on the Rotor Hats (that's what they are called).

I took it back to the dealer service and showed it to them. they removed the rust and put on silver high temp paint. They didn't charge me.

A new car should not have rust on the Rotor Hats and I think Chevy needs to start coating those at the factory, especially for cars where the rotor hats are visible...

Unfortunately, it is just the nature of OEM rotors.
