I had a RX8 6spd . Very nimble. Rotary motor made it more like the dirt bike car. Rev it up and go.
RX8 ,very little toqure and bad on gas (13to15mpg ), keep a quart of oil for about every 4th fill up and small gas tank.
I am sure you will like driving the Camaro better.
Hard to say about the cornering. The RX8 Can really go through the turns but funny powerband.
Camaro...Camaro....Search your feelings, you know this to be true. The RX8 is so whenever it came out the Camaro is NOW.

Camaro will be faster in a straight line but will be lost in the corners.
The RX-8 is amazingly light on its feet.

Don't be too sure about "Lost"...With almost 70MPH in slolam Pulling .88G I think this will be closer than you think!

That was the SS and Edmunds....

The V6 pulls like .92/.93

The V6 Camaro should compare favorably. The RX8 is the darling of C&D, R&T etc. but they always seem to neglect how annoying a buzzy, low torque engine is during normal driving. Can't drive around town at 8000RPM all the time. Also, you're looking at $26-33k out the door for an RX8. At that point, get a 1SS.

I think it would be a good comparison. Maybe we will get to see some comparisons on these 2 machines ..

Had a 2005 RX-8, very nice BUT
- MPG not good
- burn oil
- engine flooding issue
- resale value not good

So true. And like everyone else says very low torque. I still have mines. I love the car but its time for a change. The 1SS seems to be the perfect replacement for it.

Burns oil by design to lubricate the engine.

Engine flooding no longer an issue after PCM flash.

Total BS. It's fine for everyday driving. The engine is certainly unique. The only annoying thing about it on a daily basis is lack of torque. You won't be winning any stoplight races but you'll be grinning ear to ear merging on a twisty on/off ramp.

I'm in the same boat. I love my RX8 but i'm ready for some neck snapping torque.

equally important as the lack of tq is the gearing.

according to edmunds, the rx8 manual does 0-60 in 7.0,
1/4 in 15.4
so we have the straights.
and with the lateral g's of the camaro, it should be close in the turns.
camaro ftw
