RIP Chris Kyle

RIP. This is truly saddening news. :( :flag1:

Quote:
GLEN ROSE, Texas -- A former U.S. Navy SEAL who gained recognition during the Iraq War was one of two people fatally shot southwest of Fort Worth on Saturday, KHOU 11 News has learned.

Sources close to the investigation identified the former SEAL has Chris Kyle, author of the New York Times bestselling book, "American Sniper."

Kyle was shot point-blank while helping another soldier who is recovering from post traumatic stress syndrome, officials said.

A warning was issued for the suspect, who was believed to be driving a black Ford F-350 truck with large tires and rims. The suspect was reportedly later captured in Lancaster, south of Dallas. The individual was believed to be highly trained with military experience, according to the Erath County Sheriff's Office.

The shooting location is 53 miles southwest of Fort Worth.

"American Sniper" was published last year, and details Kyle's 150-plus kills of insurgents from 1999 to 2009. The book's cover refers to Kyle as "the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history."

Check back for updates to this developing story.

I have. I thought it was an amazing view of how intense things were/are in Iraq/Afghanistan.

This is a much bigger problem than most realize. This happened to a Marine buddy of mine in Waukegan almost a year a go. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2...olice-officers

I've been to a bunch of funerals for Vets over the last 7 years and you can say the war on terror has produced the worst problems for Veterans returning home since the Civil War only nobody studied these issues in the 1860's. The problem is no other conflict, or war, has had so many American Servicemen going back for a 4th or 5th or even 6th tour of duty.

I can't say what went on with Chris Kyle but around the VA in North Chicago the police don't know what to do, families don't know what to do, the VA is overwhelmed with troubled Vets and and nobody has an answer.

I'm being general with my comments for a reason but you all should get an idea of where this goes.

Very sad, may he rest in peace. I'm sure he and Carlos Hathco(c)k are sharing stories right now.

Now that I read my post, it won't let me spell out Carlo's last name, so I'll spell it wrong
