Sucks to hear and see this. How do you hold the steering wheel when you drive? Just wondering how the airbag hurt your hand. Maybe useful info for everyone else.

Your car just depreciated by around 14% or so and obviously it will show up on a Car Fax. The other drivers insurance company should pay you that money on top of any repairs. Most people don't know this, insurance companies aren't too happy about telling you, and most people don't get that money. If you insist on it they will pay it. Get your insurance company involved if you have to.

I applaud GM. The Camaro has a 5 star crash safety rating. I guess the heavy body pays off. I am glad to see that you are okay. Your car will be fixed up in no time...

Also, I don't admit KIA as being a real car >=D

Ouch, $10,000 worth of damage at least. Sounds like the Kia driver violated the right of way of the OP by turning in front. Whether the Kia has insurance or not, always notify your own insurance. The OP is not the customer of the Kia's insurance company.
BTW, injurries also played a role in the collision. Time off from work, long term effects of the hand injury and hospitals bills will also be part of the claim. As always, consult an attorney for advice.

Thanks for the concern everyone! My hand is throbbing less now, but my neck/back is sore, got some massages from the wife on tap

Dunno...we'll find out, I've contacted mine and they'll be running down all the details. Still waiting on the police report.

I'm sorry to see your Camaro in the state it's in - but hopefully it will be 'good as new" shortly - and that you'll be back on the road with a good case of
"perma-grin"......
Sorry to have banged up one of your babies...hopefully she'll be right as rain soon!

The Kia was a LOT worse off, looks like a total loss...the entire front right side was caved in. Now, compare that to the Camaro, and we can see clearly that it's earned every star in the crash rating. Saved my life/limbs.

I'm actually not sure...I went back to the car this morning at the dealership and looked at the airbag, looks like the steering wheel breaks into three distinct pieces - horizontally, and then down the middle. Maybe one of those pieces gouged me, but I really don't know how I was cut.

Sigh...trying not to think about that. But will follow up for sure, thanks.

Got a few more pics this morning at the dealership...I'll say again, VERY impressed with how it stood up to the impact. The guy showed me the engine compartment though...a lot of the framework and rails are twisted, as is the radiator and other components. He's confident it can be fixed though, just depends on how much $$$. (I did ask if he could put an SS bumper on...something I've wanted to do! )
