Then as soon as the cars hit the first corner the Camaro will run away from it.

I like the SRT's but the cars don't have the potential the Zl1 has.
I wouldn't count out the Challenger already. Looks like the ZL1 will be the lowest horsepower car out of all the three so it better hope to preserve the handling advantage.

I love Dodge but I'm more of a trans am guy...and the ZL1 is one the best cars I've ever driven...so I'm not just 1/4 mile runner...will the hellcat keep up on road course track?

On the Dodge forums a lot of guys are saying more like 550-580 hp than 640hp.

In a straight line the hellcat will bust the zl1 stock vs stock. End of story.

I don't know...the article said it "may come close to matching the 640 hp of the viper". And look at how skinny those rear tires are. Until close counts in horseshoes, hand grenades and hemis, I'm not too scared.

I'll keep my ZL1

392 Challenger costs $50k. How much more for the Hellcat?

Supercharged Challengers, when upgraded with 1000hp axles, clutch, ect. weigh @ 4600 lbs.

No convertible, none coming.

I wanted to go Mopar, I work for Chrysler. Couldn't do it.

My ZL1 has more power than that, plus all the better suspension and brake technology and beefier powertrain that comes stock on a ZL1 anyway.. so bring it.

All the tweaks that you did to your ZL1 can also be done to the Challenger correct? Also how do you know that the suspension, beefier drivetrain, and brake technology is superior on your ZL1 when the revised Challenger specs hasn't even been released yet. Also to the folks tossing out the 50k plus price tags for the 392 that is asking price, I purchased my past 392 loaded for 42K or about what you pay for a loaded 2SS. My guess is 55-60k putting it right in the ZL1 and 500 price range

Will just have to wait and see. By my signature you can see I have no dog in this fight but HP is just a number on paper we will just have to wait and see how fast it REALLY is.

In theory they can be. But let's face it, there is no Lingenfelter Performance Engineering for Mopar. With GM anybody can get huge upgrade parts in days. A comperable aftermarket just does not exist for Dodge. Thanks to companies like LPE a good mechanic can capitalize on their research and parts catalogs and put together a very potent build in a relatively short period of time. Hennesey and some others will offer "comparable" builds to the Challengers but the price is higher because the parts need to be custom fabricated and tested individually.

This may be true. But you'll be able to find one for $9K less within a year, lol. Dodge/Chrysler is good for that. I can get a 2012 300 SRT8 for $46k brand new right now with a MSRP of $55K.

Excited to see the Hellcat. Hell they've had 6-7 years to make it seeing the Challenger has been out since 2009, lol. If it doesn't beat the ZL1 and GT500 in every aspect consider it a failure, atleast I will.

Yes, but it depends on what the base hellcat will be, the Zl1 leaves a lot of room to work with in both engine upgrade and supercharger. The GT 500 is already pushing its limits in some areas and already has a larger supercharger than the ZL1. So, if they don't do something with weight suspension and have quite a bit of upgrade room left I think the ZL1 would come out on top.
