2SS Automatic Burn Outs

I got my 2SS Automatic about weeks ago and of course had to try and smoke the tires. No such luck. I've tried.
Manual mode in 1st without the brake and holding the brake.
Regular Drive with and without holding the brake.
I've also tried these 2 while taking the traction control off and also putting it in competitive mode.
The rear end just lowers and sticks to the ground. Great for take off because there is no wheel spin, but you can't play around.
I'm sure the standard would have no problem.

Also the wife and I were on our way to dinner last night and a mustang GT wanted to race. Ran away from the mustang :-)

Everywhere I stop in Houston people are commenting on how awesome it looks. Most have not seen another one driving around town, including myself.

Has anyone else with an automatic experienced this with the tire spinning?

It's not broken in yet. You can power brake but I would not recommend it till after your first oil change. But hey it's your car that's just what I would do.

Power brake is left foot brakes, power up then after it starts smoking come off brakes slow. Traction off.

uh I sorta doubt taking it past it's first oil change would really change anything, they'd have to be putting the enging in a lower hp artificially, and people wouldn't stand for that.

Agree... oil change doesn't change anything... just stating that's how long I waited until i tried.

It's just putting the miles on and finishing the overall vehicle brake-in.

But of course people can do what they want. Tires and brakes need to break in too not just the engine.

i would think the tires would spin easier when new. i ride bikes and the tires are very slippery until roughed up.

No offense, but are you sure your doing it right? I had no problem doing burnouts in my stock 01 Trans Am with auto trans. which only had 325 hp. Holding the brake I could run for 30 seconds or more. Without, maybe 2-3 seconds or about 20+ feet.

I may not know what I'm doing, but I've tried it on 2 different occasions with the different vehicle settings and nothing. I'm interested to know the experiences of other L99 automatic camaro owners. It seems to just bog down when I hold the brake.

I think you're holding the brake down too hard. You should only apply enough brake to keep the car in place, not full brake. The car should very nearly roll forward, but not quite. Once the rear wheels break loose, you can let off the brake a little more until you feel the car start to edge forward and then hold the brake there.

This may seem obvious but I'm just trying to help. Since you blew the doors off a Mustang, it can't be a HP issue and the tires aren't any wider or stickier than on my old T/A.
