Broken windshield

Man I took my car to work today and whata ya know, a truck in front of me kicked up a rock and cracked my windshield... My day sucked...anyone know a good place to get a windshield replaced. Just thought I'd asked if anyone else has had to replace one...

Sorry to hear that. I got a small rock pit in my windsheild that is right in my plain view when I drive and it reflects the sun like a mirror. Good luck with your windshield.

Had my car a week, and that happened to me, mine was one of the first from my dealer they had none in stock they had to ship it from Canada 550 dollars..

A caution about windshields, do not accept an afteramarket "copy" I don't know if they are available yet for the Camaro, but they are much cheaper so you are easlily tempted. The aftermarket ones are poorly made, and sometime don't even fit right.

Had mine installed by Safelite, they did a great job.

I had it replaced today by my dealer, they farmed it out but they used factory glass. It was a little over $650 but my deductible was only 250 so I don't feel so bad. They did an awesome job and even let me watch as they did it... I'm still pissed about the whole thing though...

I feel our pain. I have a nice chip dead center on mine. I need to take it to safelite before the thing grows.

take to your local auto glass repair/replacement facility... i strongly suggest not Safelite... as an independent glass shop owner, they operate unethically and provide little in customer service... not to mention their techs work on commission.. if you want me to recomend a reputable shop in your area, give me your zip code and i'll PM you the info

Most companies install the same glass as the factory. Some do not. Safelite is one that does not. Good choice ordering the glass instead of buying it from them.

your insurance will pay for OE glass, so dont waste $550 on purchasing it yourself... once the Camaro's get a few years old, they will not pay for GM branded glass unless you have it specifically written on your insurance policy.. pick a local glass company, Safelite isnt American anymore. Cindy Rowe Auto Glass, Diamond Triumph, Elite Auto Glass, Auto Glass Specialities, Auto Glass Center, and Safelite are all under the Belron umbrella...

I have had my glass replaced once, through Insurance, I requested OEM only, no problem, installed by Safelite, $50.00 deductible. I personally have never had a problem with Safelite. But everybody has had a problem with somebody...

I now have a new runner from a rock chip very near the edge, down where the inspection and tag are. Seems like those hits close to the edge run alot easier... Anyway, will need to replace it again I guess. I will go the same route I went before. Good luck to you!!!

Use it myself, makes it slick , things that hit the glass dont get a "bite" so it kinda bounces off and leaves little or no damage...
