man, if I had a dime for every one of these 'voiding warranty' posts, i'd have maybe 300 dimes.

we really need a separate warranty discussion forum, oh and a spelling/grammar forum!

When you return the car for warranty work, the service manager will see the headers and assume you race the car. There's a very good chance that he'll blame the mods for any engine/drivetrain failure and annotate your warranty record on the GM computer. If this happens, no GM service center will honor the warranty for engine/dt problems.

You may be lucky, but don't install headers if you need to keep the warranty.

I have personally talked to two service managers in the Miami area, and both said that long tube headers or any cat delete/high flow addition would void the powertrain warranty.

They both also confirmed that the first thing that the service department checks on a car is the history on the ECM. Any tune, whether or not it has been removed, is detectable and will kill the warranty.

I hate to see people go into these modifications without really understanding the ramifications of what they are doing.

If you go into it knowing the consequences, then that is fine. Pay your money and take your chances.

Go talk to your service manager at the dealership you purchased your car from....work a relationship with them and be honest and up front. My dealer just replaced my clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel due to it sticking with nothing said about my LT's, X-pipe, and Vararam installed. It is totally up to the dealer if they will work with you or not.
