Boston Acoustics Premium 9 speaker stereo system

Just bought the 2SS/RS and chevy's website says the premium 9 speaker system comes standard. Where are all the speakers? I see separate tweeter & woofer in the doors, center channel on front dash and 2 6 x 9's (guessing the size) on the rear deck. I do not see a sub anywhere. Did I get screwed?

I believe the 2 rear speakers count as 4 because they are component speakers and have a woofer and tweeter all in one.

You know, I've wondered the same thing. I KNOW they dont come with a sub, I was trying to think if there might be 3 little speakers in the front center one. but lol, the 6x9 components in the back do make sense now.

So with that mentality...the Camaro also comes with 5 wheels...(2 front, 2 rear, and one steering wheel.) And the SS comes with the premium 8-spark plug engine system built-in. Plus, the 6-speed manual comes fully equipped with 6-gears that are conveniently selected manually, on demand, by the premium shifter mechanism located inside the passenger cabin.

The sub in my 2SS/RS Vert is behind the rear seat back, in the middle.

The $700 that they charge for those speaker is ridiculous. But then again, I have a feeling it's not the speakers that are bad, it's probably the factory deck. I know in my previous car, the factory sound was really bad even though I bought the premium sound. I changed out the deck and OMG, you would not believe that those speakers came from factory. I won't blame the speakers just yet. The problem is that not many people have changed out their deck because it's so integrated....ugh...

My problem is I know what good sound sounds like. It's like speed, you think you have a fast car until you drive somebody else's that had proper work work done to it. Once you've experienced it, it is hard to accept the previous. The 3 channel system I would put in (2 doors and one sub) will absolutely blows this crap away.

I do not think this system is premium. Maybe the price, but not the system. Mine is about ready to go under the knife in a week for a complete redo of everything except for the deck.

I'm about to go with ********s box for a 12" woofer, and the Pac kit to replace the factory amp. I'm looking to go with the Cadence F110.5 If 100x4 and the fifth channel 300x1 doesn't do it.....I don't know what will. The hard part is im sold on the amp, but I need to find a spot to mount it.

Oh yeah, if y'all get creative. The Cadence amp is 18"L x 11"W x 2.75"H Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I'll be the guinee pig on this one.

Nessal - more than anything else, it's the speakers. You can keep the stock head, and actually get REALLY good music in the car.
Keep the stock speakers, and no matter what else you do, it's still gonna be an average stereo.
Rencor has the right idea - a good front stage and bass.

I added subs and tuned the system / stereo from there.. the boston acoustics sound great now.

I used to run live sound and what I have in the car is pretty damn close now.
