What happens if your key fob breaks (usual problem) or the battery dies?

Then you're screwed. I really don't see the appeal of PB start.

PQ, your comment doesn't make much sense to me. Your hands need to be empty to drive. So you'll have to put the stuff down sooner or later.

You can get it aftermaket from www.advancedkeys.com. Nice setup too. I plan on ordering the setup that includes the Lexus button and feature that rolls up the windows when you leave the car.

The battery doesn't just die without warning. And it's easy to replace. You can get them at the store.

If the fob breaks then so be it. Most cars come with two keys.

What if you lose your turn key? What if your car battery dies?

My point is that a lot of thigs can go wrong. I've never had a problem with Bonnies. Got a battery once at Lowes. Worked great.

I can take or leave pushbutton start. If I had my choice, I'd have it.

My 2000 Corvette locked up in my garage at 27k and had to be towed.
My 2005 GTO locked up the day after I sold it at 73k and the new owner had to replace the cylinder.

GM isn't known for its good ignitions.

Hopefully the Camaro won't be next

Agreed. But it's a convinience feature. I didn't say it was a necessity. It's just that there have been times when I have a coffe cup in my hand and my briefcase and have to unlock it by setting one of them down.

No big deal. So I set one down, but it'd be a convenience to just touch the handle and it unlock. Like I said, not a must, but it would be handy at times.

My wife's Lexus has push button start and I love the feature. Definitely was hoping the Camaro had it.

Well that makes sense, I assumed you were talking about just starting the car.

Also I don't like that newer cars don't allow you to actually control the starter, they do it automatically.

I've known more ignition switches that failed than push buttons. Of course, there have been WAY more non push buttons.

But, of all the people I've known with PB Start, I've never known one to fail. I'm sure they do, but not any more than any other feature.

I agree with you there. But I haven't had any problems. It's fun to watch people hold the key turned til it starts though. LMAO

some have key cards like a cridit card it has no batterys the car sends a singal out and then reads the uqine code of the card then unlocks/starts only way that fails is if your battery is dead sence there is no battery in the card lol you have your visa you have your key in your wallet and its even playing feild also if you have your key key on you you can manual unlock the doors for what ever to pop the hood for a jumpstart so it works out

PS the volt has it

i dont know.... i like the thought of a push to start..but something about having the key and just turning it on and hearing the engine it makes me feel powerful :p and something about tossing a key and watching a persons face light up when they turn key and start the car just gets to me! it wouldnt be the same with a button....and also the push to start should be left to the supercars..like Ferrari or Lambos..just stating my opinion
