You guys aren't factoring in the SAE's revised hp measurement changes circa 2006..... They are actually making 240-250 hp at the crank.

Here are a few random examples of old SAE hp measurement vs new.

Acura RL 3.5
-old:300 hp
-new:290

Acura TL 3.2
-old:270 hp
-new:255 hp

Or you could reverse the equation where the Stang GT makes 260 hp, in that case the Camaro V6 makes 330 hp and the SS makes 450 hp.

Um, dude, the only ones that went down in HP with the new measurements. Most domestics held pat or actually ended up making MORE hp that was previously advertise, the Viper and Z06 for example both went UP around 3-10 HP with the new measurements, so i would say while Acura and Toyata especially had padded numbers, the 99 mustang GT did not.

Yea can't argue with that... I was just about to edit my post stating the same thing. FWD stock axel = potential wheel hop

I'd run much faster times with my Cobalt if I wasen't always in fear of wheel hop and snapping my axel.

If he were stock, driving from the back seat backwards I'd still bet on him.

Actually looks like a 2005-2009 (S197) Mustang... definitely NOT a 2003 (New Edge).

Then newer one (2005-09) is faster... They are rated at 13.5 but typically you never see that... low 14s, upper 13s...
