It was a great day hanging in the heat with the "boys" at a local car show and while the award selections were a bit on the strange side (Really, a KIA gets an award ), I was lucky enough to earn one. Here are some pics from todays show of the C5 contingency.

If I had to loose out I am glad it was to a KIA!

The car show season continued today in Plymouth and although it took all day for the clouds to disappear, the day turned out nice and as always it was great hanging with Paul and the rest of the boys. Lots of nice cars and I was happy to win my class . Here are some pictures of the day.

As another car show season comes to a close thought I post some pictures from the show at Quincy High School on Sunday to benefit the high school hockey team. The sun was out but boy the wind was blowing. Anyway, a nice way to end the season with an award for the Wild SS. And check out the 77 Trans AM complete with a Jerry Reed 8-track. Cool!

While She Sleeps

So I haven't posted anything for awhile and thought I'd catch up with what's been going on. Last year I had a mirrored stainless steel bowtie made by Emblem Pros and couldn't decide where to place it. So I build a new floor for the trunk and built the bowtie in the floor. Came out pretty good.

Here's the bowtie from Emblem Pro's

The MGW short throw shifter is installed and I love the feel . I had a factory Hurst short throw shifter and I did like it, but the MGW not only has a very unique feel from gear-to-gear, the throw is a bout 30% less. But it's really the "feel" that I love the best. Here are a couple of pics. I'm liking the color contrast of the silver stick to the silver of the painted interior, but did pick up another stick to have chromed. Any thoughts?

Anyway, as we brace for a foot of snow, the Wild SS remains safely tucked away waiting for the spring.

Catching Up

It's been a while since I've posted so I thought I'd catch up. After about a year of adding "small" mods (trunk floor with Chevy Bowtie, leather boot for the E brake) I decided to make some changes/additions:

First off, I replaced the brakes with a set of Wilwood AERO6 (6 piston front) and AERO4 (4 piston rear) with matching drilled/slotted rotors and they look great!

Next Billet Specialties makes chromed valve covers for the LS3, so off come the Roto Fab covers and on go the valve covers. Still working on organizing the hoses, but now it looks like an "Old School" engine!

Seen a few C5's with these rear quarter vents and really like the look, so decided to get a set. Word for the wise, these needed quite a bit of prep, more than I thought but they came our great!

Last mod for the winter will be a thin stripe along the bottom of the ground effects, no pics yet as the Wild SS is still at the shop but I'll post pics once it's done.

The chromed factory strut bar is installed and I love it! This and the new Billet Specialties valve covers really tricks out the engine!
