Undecided Ordering -- LS3 or L99??
I finally have the green light to place my order. It appears that that the only cars available right now are autos, at least in Aqua Blue. In terms of engine and driving performance, should I wait for the manual LS3 issue to be resolved, or go down to my local dealer and buy the car with a auto. Is the LS3 worth the wait?? I don't care if it is an auto or manual, I just want the best performance??

Best performance? Go with the LS3. There is no hold on it, order the one you want. I wouldn't hesitate to get the auto if you don't have a preference either way, but if you want the highest performance, go with the LS3.

There is no current manual issue for the 1,000,000 time, there was a temporary issue way back at beginning of July that has long since been resolved.

I appreciate your response. what does Viz mean when he refers to the "shut down"....I've seen this terminology in several posts recently.

He is referring to everything running smoothly since the one week mandatory shutdown the first week in july. That shutdown would of taken place regardless of any manual issues. Its typically two week summer shutdown while plants retool, but due to popularity of camaro it was limited to one week.

LS3 without a doubt for the performace aspect. If you drive in alot of traffic, you may want the L99. Either way, it is still a CAMARO..

I wanted the manual, but dealership had the exact car I was about to order coming in with an automatic (no one on waiting list to get it). Needless to say I bought the car and had it within 3 days. Compensation is that if i want to play,I can use the paddle shift in manual mode. Order whats going to make you happy. Goodluck!

In the long run I think the L99 is going to be the way to go. It's going to be the fastest between the manual and auto. There maybe some issues come up with performance, but I have not experienced any problems with my A/SS2. It runs great.

If you don't care about driving in traffic, go with the manual. However, if you are going to mod your car, the L99 will give you the best performance in the long run.

Why are some people saying the LS3 will do better with mods and then others are saying L99?
What data is being used to come up with those conclusions?
