I always get the "We should trade cars" comment. I take them up on it if they want to trade payments. No takers yet.

The only problem with saying thank you to a compliment, it implies that we are somehow responsible for designing such a beautiful car. Since we had nothing to do with the design, a more appropriate response would be "I am very fond of it myself....etc.".

No it implies we appreciate the comment with out sounding conceded

I had a guy complement my Camaro once and then he went into a rant about how he traded his Camaro in for a BMW. Now, he hates his decision and his life. After a few minutes it was awkward so I bailed.

I usually always go with "Yeah I love it!" Or "Thanks, i love the car" or if its a girl "Thanks! Looks even better inside!" but then it kinda sounds like i want to kidnap them hahaha
