Resetting oil life indicator - LAME
I looked at the getting to know your Camaro and found:
Resetting the Oil Life System 1. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off. 2. Fully press and release the accelerator pedal slowly three times within five seconds. 3. Turn off the ignition. My Buicks use the same reset button as the trip computer and MPG calculator. This is pretty lame for these days.

Weird. My 4th gens both used the trip counter. Now I wonder if my G35 uses the accelerator to reset the oil notice, since you can't just use the trip meter button. Hmmm...

Yeah, I'm with you. My current 2008 Malibu, you have to do this same thing. It doesn't quite make any since to me either. It maybe like this because they don't want you to accidentally reset the oil life while using the information center. Who knows, there's got to be some kind of logic behind it.

Lame? Really guys? A large number of GM vehicles are like this.

My 2001 and 2004 Sierra were like this. You dont even have to worry about. Most places do it for you when you have your oil changed.

My '02 Camaro you can do either way. (which is probably true on the '10 as well) I prefer the pedal because it doesn't reset my trip odometer at the same time.

This works on my 03 Jimmy Crew. Really love the "secrets" built into vehicles these days, but this one ain't no secret anymore. It's a really simple and easy to remember manuever..............and it's almost like the old "idiot lights". If you have to rely on this to change your oil, then maybe they need to bring back those lights!
Or better yet, have a small hammer drop from the ceiling (like an airbag on an airplane) and hit you on the head when it's time for a service.

most retarded thread ever, this ranks up there with the guy on the cobalt forum that thought his supercharger turned backwards when he was in reverse. Anyone that really considers this an issue, Scott should come to your house and kick you in the gentleman region. Seriously this is really grabbing at straws for something to complain about. Come on, how you reset the oil life meter, thats your gripe. My 96 Impala SS does this the same way, the ss/sc has buttons. But more importantly who really cares how you reset the oil life meter.
