Another "GM Killing Off Performance Cars" Article

First we had the articile on the liberal CNN site yesterday and now surprizingly, this article shows up on the conservative American Spectator site today.
I hope this not a bandwagon issue that all the media is going to jump on.

Those fancy all-electric Volts that GM has on deck for next year? They're going to sit unsold on dealership lots (the few remaining), right alongside the piled up inventories of unsold Tahoes and Camaros. Wait and see.
Idiot.

Unsold Camaros?

I think GM should send them the waiting list that they have of people lined up to buy one...and a high percentage of those are the uber-expensive every bell and whistle top of the line models (2SS/RS)

I think this is the key to the article and spot on...

None of the jabbering jabberwockies out there want to touch the third rail -- the real issue, the Thing Behind it All. And that is the fact that millions of people no longer have inflated home equity lines to tap, but do have a pocket full of maxed out credit cards, 40 percent less in their 401ks -- and are scared white that their job (if the still have a job) will be outsourced or right-sized or otherwise disappeared in the very near future -- probably funded by their own tax dollars.

So, signing up for a $30k car loan is not high on most people's agendas right now.
The problem really isn't GM it's the market is dried up. GM would be fine right now if the market didn't all but disappear. The problem is that they weren't healthy enough to weather the onslaught. Ford got lucky and borrowed tons of money last summer. It's almost like they knew all this was coming.

Do You Realize......

That if we simply installed White Roofs, it would be like taking every car off the road, and then some, as far as G.W. (cough) is concerned?

Makes ya think, where the science is REALLY coming from, doesn't it?

But even Ford has stated that if one of the other big 3 went under they wouldn't be able to last forever. I wonder how much longer they could last if we kept going like we are? Pretty much just a delaying tactic, and they're hoping the storm is over before their boat springs a leak.

What he's doing is predicting that in 6 months or so there will be a bunch of inventory. AND THERE WILL BE. But this is one guys opinion. No more educated than your or mine.

Yeah, but why do idiots like this get to spew out this kind of baloney? We who read the forums know the truth, but Joe Schmo stumbles across this and takes it as gospel...as Sloppy Joe said,
