VMAX Throttle Body For V6

Hey Guys,

Question, I am considering getting the VMAZ ported throttle body for my 2011 1LT/RS. Will this mod add to the exhaust tone? Will it make it deeper? Thanks!

No it won't change the exhaust tone. It just improves throttle response.

Thank you for the quick response. Any suggestions on how to deepen the exhaust tone? I have the following mods already:

1. K&N CAI
2. BBK LT headers with high flow cats
3. MRT v2 exhaust
4. Trifecta tune.

I don't think there is much left to do to drastically change the sound. You could do a magnaflow res x pipe, that will remove all rasp you have but will also lower the sound and prob deepen it a little more.

Thanks all for the posts!

kjkjr27 - thanks for info. Yeah I figured that was about it. Thinking of changing my CAI. I am told the K&N is not that good.

Still on the fence with the Xpipe. I keep reading different things. H pipe, from what I have read, makes a deeper tone. I am afraid to change out, hate the sound and regret the move.

if you get a magnaflow resonated x pipe it will be better than the h pipe thats on the car already.

With your setup, the Magnaflow Resonated X is very common. It will reduce the volume, but the drone and rasp will be pretty much nonexistent. It will also give it a deeper tone.

As for the throttle body, it will change the tone at wide open throttle ever so slightly, but not enough to really note about.

Feel free to call, PM or email me with questions.

Best regards,

Tyler

Thanks Tyler. What would just doing a Res Delete do to the tone with my setup?

It would make it a bit louder and less refined. It would also likely introduce some rasp. I wouldn't suggest removing them unless you go with the resonated X.

Tyler

IMO >>> Shorty headers; videos I heard make the car more "throaty". Lt headers will be loud! Since you have the LT already go with bigger pipes 2.5/3 inch from cats back to the exhaust.
