Volume knob covering rubbing off?

Has anybody had the gray rubber on there volume knob come off?Mine seemed to get loose and fell off a couple of days ago i put it back on but it still looked loose!Well this morning I get back in my car and the rubber was real bad to the point that it wouldn't even go back on the knob!

I went to my dealer today and they told me that the rubber probably fell off due to the this Texas heat thats been going on for so long. They also told me GM didn't make just the rubber part and that I would have to order a whole new faceplate for the radio?Does anybody know if this is true or if maybe I could find the rubber part somewhere else?I think it would be real dumb of GM to make there customers have to buy a whole new faceplate just because the cheap rubber they used fell off!

I don't know if this has happened to anybody on this site but the radio sure does look ugly with the rubber part missing on the knob!I didn't ask how much the faceplate would be but im pretty sure it wont be under $300.So with that money i would much rather put in a little extra and buy myself a nice touch screen radio or something.

Hey, what's bumper to bumper warranty for if it doesn't cover stuff like niggling details? Whether it was the heat that caused it to come off, or another reason, shouldn't it be covered? Did EVERY Camaro in Texas have that part come off in the heat? I doubt it. So there was something not quite right with yours. Have the dealer work FOR you, not against you, and get it covered.

Yeah and I find it really weird that only the volume knob came off.My car went over the 36000 miles last month so its not covered any more! The dealer called me a wile ago and they told me that they would try to find me just the covering but that its a long shot sense GM didn't make it to be sold individually.

Ive been looking into getting an Ipad I don't know it y'all have seen them in cars they look real nice!I mite go that way or if not I mite get a real nice touchscreen radio.Honestly I wasn't to fond of the stock radio anyway!
