The reported 585hp in the ZL1 is crank hp and that's been translating to approx 480 at the wheels in the automatics on the few stock ones that have been dynoed

Just want to rule out that
My old car did 470rwhp. Ted with JRE said that's almost identical with his findings with an auto ZL1. So I've always assumed my old car's 470rwhp was somewhere around 530 at the crank.

Maybe I was underestimating my old car's crank HP.

Main reason I gave up my Bee was for the factory warranty on the ZL1. Any potential mods will have to be non voiding warranty mods.

Just CAI and L/T headers.

It might just also depend on the torque curve and at what rpm the torque comes on strong.

Oh, one other question....did you keep the havoc rims? thinking I may run these...your car was the reason I bought some for my ss before and I love them...wondering if I can fit a set of these on the ZL1?

Yeah, good idea but I'd have no way of finding her. That pic was taken at the first C5feast in Valdosta, GA. Sam was a super nice gal.

Give the ZL1 some break in miles to wake up. Mine woke up around 1500-2,000 miles. It would curious to see the previous car's dyno run. Something to consider is the torque curve and low factory rev limiter. I don't know on the auto cars; but when I dyno'd mine the torque was at 500 ft-lbs plus from 3000-5000 rpms. That linear torque is deceptive and doesn't feel as peaky compared to some car.

BTW - Beautiful cars and welcome.

Yeah if you were getting 470 at the wheels in your old car then that's not much lower than the automatic ZL1 is stock - and when you take into consideration the extra weight of the ZL1 it makes sense that it doesn't feel as fast to you.

The ZL1 power delivery is also very linear - so it doesn't give you that kick and yet when you look at the speedo you're flying

What you definitely need to get though is the Rotofab CAI - that will get you a jump of about 25rwhp with no tune needed - it also brings out that supercharger whine which will bring a smile to your face!

Take that speed around a corner and tell me if you feel a difference.

And any plans to come to the all GM show at Old Town in Kissimmee this Saturday? There are a bunch of us that will be attending
