Here is a CNN link that you can watch the trial live on your computer. They are on lunch break until 1:30. The recording was an interview between the detectives and Casey, and them calling her out on all her lies.

On topic: I'd run it by the dealer and let them take care of it. If it is a mold problem the duct would be replaced under warranty.

Make sure the car's air dial is not set all the way to the left which is the Max (recycled air) setting.

Let us know how things go for you with your dealer. I hope they're able to get you all fixed up and back on the road.

The HEPA filters can collect mold and mildew as part of the process. The mold goes through the dirty side and gets filtered through the filter material and pretty much stays in the material until changed. This gives it the opportunity to grow, especially if you turn off the air. Well in our facility at work, we shut down for a month out of the year and change out the air handlers' HEPA filters annually. In your furnace, you change out once a quarter(4x per year). I would only change these ones out annually or if you smell something you shouldn't. If you are sensative, you may consider every six months or sooner. I guess it depends on how sensative you are.

I have read that everything from a sunroof leaking from a faulty drainhole to a poorly routed AC drain alowing for pools of water to acumulate can cause mold there by explaining the smell. The dealer should have a remedy for this. Good luck!

Mine (Fords) do that occasionally after siting overnight. I've found that shutting off the A/C a minute or so before turning off the car seems to help the next day. FWIW...

My 2010, 5000 miles, started doing this a few weeks back. I started running the A/C on fresh air from outside the last few miles of each trip and the smell went away. Using the outside air coming rather than recirculate somehow prevents water build - up which eventually will get moldy and smelly.

I go another step and turn the a/c completely off the last 2 min or so of the trip and let fresh air come in. I'd try this before I went to the Dealership!

Everything was great with my original cabin filter. I changed it out after 1 year with a brandy new GM replacement this past April and ever since then, it's been stinky when I run the AC, but only in the very beginning. It may be coincidence and would've done the same with the original filter once I started to use the AC again. I've got an oil leak somewhere rear main seal or the valve cover, so I'll be bringing mine in to have them look at that and will also have them look into the stinky air situation as well.

rooster, the only time I had stinky air coming from the vents was when I would have the air on warm/hot. It turned out that my heater core was busted. 3 days later, my car was good to go. Hopefully, this isn't the case with your car.
