should i void warranty for tune and headers???

i cant decide whether i should void the warranty just for a tune and headers!!! its a 2012 SS that I love dearly lol. I already have all the mods i can do without crossing the line of voiding the engine and transmission with a tune i would need for the headers.

It's been a tough pill for me to swallow too, but I bought eight cylinders not four. AFM gets tuned out Saturday.

I'd agree on waiting. These machines seem pretty solid, but who's to say you didn't get the late night friday car.

Horsepower is addictive - it's awesome like that. So now I have a question: when you are at a pool, do you jump in or walk down the stairs slowly?

performance mods are kind of the same thing. At the end of the day you're still going to be all the way in the pool, just depends how long it takes you to do that. Some people like to play it safe and wait til the warranty is up, others like to throw headers on right when they get home from the dealer. Then others start off slow but end up with a blower before they even know it.

I have 9,000 miles and pulled the trigger but figured if I was going to void the warranty I was going to get serious power. I went with a cam, lt's cai and tune all at once...very happy I did. The way I see it is, I am pretty handy with auto's, anything shor of a tranny rebuild and engine internals...I can fix it in my driveway. If you are financially sound, DO IT

if its a L99... go ahead and get rid of GM's blunder.... AFM is a JOKE... I tuned it out and lost approximately 0.00mpgs, lol

AFM is pretty cool, if your idea of pretty cool is getting kicked in the nuts everytime your car gets to about 60mph

I am with JCollins on this one, if you can afford to mod it then you better be ready to afford to fix it yourself if it breaks and the dealership tells you that you are on your own.

Ask yourself a question....if something breaks, can you afford the bill to fix it yourself. If yes, then go for it. If no.....ask yourself....."do you feel lucky punk, well do you"?
