Which 18 inch TSW Nurburgrings will best fit?

I want to go with a square setup of 18 inch TSW Nurburgrings. I see two options listed at retailers:

18x8 5x120 35mm
18x9.5 5x120 40mm

I have a 2015 1SS 1LE, completely stock. I understand I will need to install aftermarket brake pads to eliminate the "roller skate" counter weights to fit wheels in this size. Which of these two options will fit all four corners without further modifications or spacers? Also, which option will give me a better selection of tire options? I've been researching this since before I bought the car, and want to make sure I get it right before I buy anything. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

You need to get new break pads without the rollers first. I bought 20" cause they didn't have wide enough 18" wheels. I needed 18x10.5.

You should be fine.

"Should be fine" scares me. I've heard all kinds of answers, I just need to know which of these two sizes is a better fit for a square setup so I can get longer tread life through tire rotations with a good all season tire. One would assume since the 1LE comes with 20x10 in the front and 20x11 in the back that an 18x9.5 setup would fit all the way around, but I'd like some sort of guarantee from someone who has done this or something similar before I go drop two grand on something that potentially won't fit.

Has anyone done either size on all four corners? I know the 18x8's will fit the front and the 18x9.5's will fit the rear, I saw a member on here with that setup. I just need to know which size will fit all four corners. Does anyone have a definitive answer for this? Also, which tire is better for this setup, the Nittos or the Michelins? I've seen about as many people recommend one as would suggest the other.

I'd like to make a purchase soon so that my car doesn't have to sit in the garage for another two months before I can enjoy it again. Any of the dealers who frequent this forum ready to make a deal for a new customer? Maybe confirm which size and which tire I should use, and pick up a sale at the same time?

I swear, getting answers to this question has been like pulling teeth. I don't want to revive dead topics or hi-jack others, but I'm starting to think that a better option rather than bumping my own DOA threads.

Well, no one has these in stock at retail locations for a test fit, and they won't order them for me because their computers tell them only 20's will fit. I don't want to pay out for them, only to find I made a mistake. Which of the two sizes I listed will fit on all four front and back same size? This is the only place I know of where I can get factual information from other Camaro fans. I'm so tired of asking kids at retail locations that can only tell me the same info their website offers. I hope someone can help me out with this.

To fit 18s you need to remove the 'roller skates' from the brake pads. 18x8+35 will fit up front without modification. I ran on tsw 18x8s and 18x9.5s for a bit. Then i had 18x9.5s all around but that requires grinding a non-load bearing point to make them clear. I also had a 3mm spacer to help clear the suspension. You won't be able to run wide tires up front because it is a tight fit.

I had 255/45-18s up front and 285/40-18 rears.

Revenant, thanks for the response. So the 18x9.5's will not fit up front without modification, but the 18x8's will fit no problem? Thank you for that, now, will the 18x8's fit on the rear without problem too?

Hello
Just curious as to why you would like to buy 18s for a 1LE? Drag setup?

yes, with no rollers, the 18x8s fit no problem. the 18x8s and 18x9.5s fit with no problems on the rear.

I personally wouldn't recommend 18x8s on a 1le though. you need more tire!

The 18x8 Nurburgrings will fit all four corners then? That's good to know. Now, why do I need "more tire"? I am not tracking the car, nor am I drag racing it. I will have the stock 20x10s front and 20x11's rear with the square goodyears set aside if I want to do that. I am wanting an all season setup for colder temperature or driving in rainy conditions. I want to take this car on road trips long distance and want something with better tread wear and milage life for that purpose. No sense wearing the goodyears down on road trips, best to save them and use them in summertime for their intended purpose, no?

Is there some other detriment I am not considering besides tracking capability going with a smaller set for day to day use?

Max recommended rubber on a 8" wheel is 245. I had 255 tires on my front 18x8s and the sidewall flexed. So 245 is the highest i'd go. I guess a 245 tire and 3.91 rear with over 400hp just seems like you'll be spinning tires often.

I'm starting to re-think this whole thing to death again. Selecting wheels and tires is tough!

Depending on where you reside , you may be better off go to a big place where they have many options on wheels and tires , see what they recommend and if it fits on all accounts , and after you ask them to dry fit it first , so the will be no surprises
