Need more information but if you have the rocker arms off you can rotate the crank without fear of the pistons making contact with the valves.

If not turn the crank over til the cam sprocket is at the 6 o'clock and the crank dot at 12 o'clock they will be aligned and your #1 cylinder will be at TDC.

i took off the comp cam double roller off last night...and my son just moved the crank around...all the rockers are off..no contact going on..
i was just concerned about if the crank had to be on a certain rotation ...guess not... i already put a ls2 sprocket on with a new ls2 chain...im kinda puzzled about the chain tho... i replaced the tensanor with a dampener, and the side of the chain have movement or play... is that normal?? the double roller had no play on the sides.

If you already finished doing your springs and everything, then I don't think you want to be cranking the engine around by hand anymore (with the chain installed anyways). I think you'll collapse your lifters if you crank the engine over with them installed. Then again... this doesn't seem like the "measure PTV clearance on each cylinder" type of install anyways.

Someone else weigh in on this. I only partially know what I'm talking about.
