I will. It will be a few weeks before the insurance company and then gap coverage pay it off.

Been throught the GAP nightmare in the past myself. Was months instead of weeks. They do everthing possible to delay and deny the paperwork. Had to make two more payments on the car before they paid then came the wait to get the two payments back from my finance company. I hope you have better luck. Make sure to cross every T and dot every I.

What an awful set of circumstances. I am really proud of the C5 community for the concern for the injured family folks and especially for the offer of prayer. There's not enough of that sort of thing in this world and we should always take time to include God in our decisions and actions.

Please don't get a truck...wow!, the gas prices are horendous and the best of the trucks will be at least 5 mpg less than your Camaro. I offer this only if your new vehicle will be your daily driver...trucks are often a necessity, but gees, the fuel cost is terrible.

Let us all take a moment to remember the preservation of a driver at the expense of his Camaro. I hope my baby never has to give her life for me. :(
I'm glad everyone involved was okay, especially the little girl. It's a good thing they weren't in a SmartCar. I'm sorry to hear that you are going to be switching to a truck, but remember, you will always be family here.

aka junk yard- Not any more.
Now there called "salvage yards" and most likely this one will be rebuilt and sold with a Salvage Title, as long as there's no major engine damage.
Late model salvage can bring up to or exceed 50% of the insurance pay out.

You will get sued, gauranteed. Your lawyer will tell you to sue first as the correct step to take. As for liability for the accident, you will STILL get sued.

OP you are a class act! Human life should always come first & it is a good thing when this group of obsessed-with-our-Camaros folks get a reminder of that. Thoughts & prayers are with the family in the other car for full recovery. Soooooooo glad your Camaro protected you from injury. Hope everything comes out okay for you in your vehicle replacement. Hang around here, truck guys & muscle car guys(let's not argue the terminology) are cut from the same cloth anyway.

I already talked to a lawyer and he said theres no reason to sue them. No reason to keep everything going. They are all ok, i am ok, and my car is being taken care of as far as my loan. If her insurance company would have just 100% liablility it would have been fixed rather than totalled. Its kind of their own fault for trying to pin 10% of the accident on me. I'll let the insurance companies fight this out. In the mean time would anyone think it wrong or right to send the other people flowers or a letter to explain that i was concerned about them first and my car second. Peoples opinions would be greatly appreciated.
