Depends on the application. If they're just for oil changes, then the shorter set is fine. If you're installing headers however, the longer set is obviously recommended.

For oil changes and other work, get a floor jack and a couple of jackstands.

Jack up car, start draining oil, lower to level car until done, raise to replace plug and swap filter, lower and fill.

Ramps are a PITA!

Myself I prefer ramps. The only time I resort to a jack and stands is when ramps won't work ie putting on the next season wheel/tire combo. I guess it's all in what you get used to.

Was wondering how the ramps would be for an oil change since it wouldn't be siting level.

Out of 8 quarts, how much extra oil would you get out by leveling?

I've thought about that a few times and decided not to sweat the small stuff.

Like I posted in post #2, nothing cheaper or more affective than buying (2) 2"x12"x10 boards and cutting them into four pieces of 4', 3', 2', and 1' and screwing/gluing them together with drywall screws. If you aren't manly enough to move them around because they are too heavy I can call the wambulance for ya. Make sure you order french cries with that waaaburger too.

Ease up there Stimpy. Just because people didn't ooh and ahhh over your craftsmanship doesn't mean we didn't see it. Near as I can tell, when not in use, yours can be turned on end and used as a nick-knack shelves.

It's not about the craftsmanship, it's about practicality and not spending "burning a hole in my pocket" money on something that is way over priced just because of the name and not a high volume selling item which keeps cost up. Don't get me wrong, they are second to none IMO, but for the price they are dumb.

Now that you mention being turned on end, that is how I store them and I have sat tools on the knick knack shelves while working on other things. Haha.
