Are these Taillights legal in Texas?

If someone could give me a straight up answer as too how and why they are legal or illegal it would be very helpful.

Lupe beat me to it

But, it mostly depends on your local law enforcement whether you'll get pulled over for them. Some jurisdictions don't care. Others will pull you over for the most miniscule of infractions. Discretion is advised.

Those are pretty awesome! I have really dark tint on my factory lights and haven't been bothered in Cali *knock on wood* I may look into picking up a set of these.

•Superior quality and safety - These lights are thoroughly tested to meet federal and international standards. Being DOT and SAE approved, they meet FMVSS-108 regulations and are >>>>>>>completely street legal<<<<<<<

Order the lights. They'll probably come in a box that will say DOT and SAE approved. Keep that box in your vehicle.

If you get pulled over specifically because of the lights, show the nice officer the box.

You could also keep a copy of the Texas Transportation Code with you. Specifically, Chapter 547, Subchapter E, Section 547.322d which states:

Quote:
A taillamp shall emit a red light plainly visible at a distance of 1,000 feet from the rear of the vehicle.
This is specifically for "taillamps," which is the normal running light condition of your brake lights when you're NOT applying the brakes. When you are applying the brakes, they then become "stoplamps" and are subject to the next section of the code (e) which states:

Quote:
A stoplamp shall emit a red or amber light, or a color between red and amber, that is:
(1) visible in normal sunlight at a distance of at least 300 feet from the rear of the vehicle; and
(2) displayed when the vehicle service brake is applied.
Other than that, I don't know what to tell you.
