Pedders XA coilovers questions

hi every one , i know this might be very comment threat but i couldnt find something close to what i was looking for.

so i installed my xa coilovers today but the instructions were confusing but i wana to make sure i got it all right and let me know if im missing something.

thats what i did :

1 disassemble front and rear struts
2 transfer the upper mounts " put the rubbers in the right order "
3 put it back in the car
4 set the damping ratio

now the stuff that i didnt understand at the beginning is the spring compression which it has to be 3-10 mm , and how to adjust the height

after looking online i know how to do these 2 things and planning to do them 2moro.

1) is it ok to adjust the spring compression while its on the car ?

2) also after i installed the whole kit i notice that i put the rear coilovers are reversed , is that ok , because when i looked at them they look exactly the same except for the mount "which each is in the right side" ?

3) and last question whats the lowest " mm " i can lower the car too without adding any other suspension parts on a 20" oem rims ?

if please anyone can give me an answer asap so i can try to get it done 2moro

thanks

Yes spring compression or "Pre Load can be adjusted while on the car, as well as ride height although it is easier to set that while on a bench and then fine tune while on the car.

Pre Load is the amount of compression that you load on a static spring. So as you tighten the spring retaining nut once you get to the point where the spring can no longer move freely up and down that is considered "zero" pre load. If you measure from a fixed point like the lower retaining nut anything past zero will be "Pre Loading" the spring or putting the spring under more compression. Once that is set as desired the ride height is adjusted by raising or lowering the shock cartridge inside the strut housing.

I use zero preload and...
Front - 20mm (Space between upper and lower locking nuts)
Rear - 28mm

Here is a write up that helped me

On your second question I'm not sure I understand so send a pic

thanks for the replay

i think pedders recommend 3mm minimal preload so im gana go ahead and do it 5mm

when u did 20mm for the front and 28 mm on the rear how low did u drop ur car ?

my 2nd question was i used the right shock and spring on the left side of the car and the left shock and spring on the right side on the car ! but i did put the mounts on their current side , u think thats ok ? i didnt see any difference between them , i was just to excited so after i installed the rear i saw the sticker on on the the sides and i was like on shitt !! lol

Just don't do like I did and forget about how low it is when you whip into the parking lot ramp or it'll scrap. Post some pics when you get a chance.
