Rock - 1, Camaro - 0

Picture speaks for itself. I heard a loud bang. Got home, didn't see anything because it was dark. Re-examined the next morning and found this wonderful gash dead smack in the middle of my hood, a little right of the stripe.

I have touch-up paint, and also have a scratch repair kit but this one is real bad and when the car is clean can be seen from any angle because of its positioning on the hood. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Never gonna look right without a repaint. A TouchUp might make it look better from ten feet though.

Ya, that's what I was afraid of. I've always had plans to paint my stripes eventually, but I didn't plan on doing that for a long while. Might come sooner then I thought.

I have a dd that that I have been driving for years before I bought the camaro. The camaro only sees the road on weekends and the occasional night during the week and of course it has more scars then my dd. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I've gotten a few of those during ownership. Touch up paint for the time being, repaint later down the line.

Its by Meguiars, comes with ScratchX, I'd use it more just to smooth out the edges before filling it in with TouchUp paint. That is unless you know of something that works a little bit better.

I checked Meguiar's web site and couldn't there kit listed, so I can't tell what's in it.

I use my own technic but you can get some idea by watching Turtle Wax Scratch Repair Kit video's on youtube, I like to run the tape within a 1/16" of the scratch on both sides before sanding.

I bought it at CanadianTire a year or 2 ago, dont remember. That's a good idea, I didn't think of using the tape. I'll go that route and watch the videos they have, thanks.
