One thing I've learned about parking far away from others is DON'T park under a tree. Even though it is far away, other people will park under the tree too for shade.

I get that...but Id rather be out there alone knowing my car has no possibility of being hit by a door. Door dings and curb rash are just 2 things I cant deal with. My top pet peeves right there, and car rattles. Haha!

It really is not that hard to park, so I don't really understand how so many people have so many issues with it

Close call OP, close call..
Glad your ride escaped! I'm 98% sure that if she had a passenger in front, he/she would've tried to squeeze their way through, paying no attention to the door rubbing against yours |

A note under her wiper and a flat would cure her.

Makes me miss my dented, rusty 1987 Buick Regal.

It is the color. It attacts all sort of crazy.
OP, happens to me all the time. I have dozens of pictures of people parking too close to me.

I do two things to protect my car:
1. Park far away from the doors and park in the spot. For some reason parking at an angle seems to piss of Joe Six-Pack even if you are a million miles away from the door. 2. Look for a car at least as nice as mine and a couple of years old and park next to it. If it is a couple years old and still ding-less and clean you know the person takes care of it. I prefer Porsches and other Camaros. If I can get a spot with a curb on one side as well that's even better. I hope that the person realizes that I parked next to them in an effort to protect their car as well as mine. Safety in numbers and all... |
