You didn't do anything wrong, but this is not to say what you did is okay. According to your transcript, she didn't ask/tell you to delete the photo, nor did you offer to delete it. Mmmm. This isn't yesteryear. In today's world - like it or not - everyone's business is everyone's business. The reality is that the VIN is just a vehicle identification number and nothing more.

It is NOT just a vin, it's a car's SSN. While it is technically public information (cover yours up here and auto theft cops tow your shit), it's nobody's business. IT's like taking a picture of how much is in my bank account. While it doesn't give direct information, or even account numbers, why would you do that?! lol |

I can see her point. You took pics then went out of your way to come back and take more pics of her vin. Seems very suspect.

well when she asked me why wouldnt i not want you to take pictures of my Vin.... i said i dont know and shrugged my shoulders. I thought about asking her, well since i dont know, why dont you tell me why? But i didnt want to push the subject.
So after i left and started heading back to work from getting first oil change i thought about it and thought about it.... why wouldnt she... i mean i can see privacy maybe but the only thing i could think of is her thinking i could use the Vin to get a copy of her keys and maybe steal it? Its not like its the 70s or 80s where it was prob easier to do that but these cars are sophisticated and they have laser cut keys. No disrespect but i already have a camaro(loving every minute of it and im already rare with my combo and where i live, plus i have some cosmetic mods planned) I would never try to break the law and steal something that isnt mine.

Oh you are rare, better park it in the garage for the big payoff from Barrett Jackson in 20 years. I looked it up on Spastic Squirrel. And mine is more rare because it is unsearchable on spastic squirrel...lol I have the elusive 9 in my VIN where yours is an "x" |

I was reading here: http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...ht=check+digit and if the math figures out to be 10 then it equals an "X" haha, that has to count for a little more rarity
