Question Anyone know why GMPP options no longer exist on the Chevy site?

I compulsively build my car on Chevy.com at least a couple times a week, and just wondering why they took the GMPP stuff out of the dealer installed options section? Availability issues? Salesman I talked to a couple weeks back said the GMMP upgrades were easily attained so...

From what I hear their is no perfomance division since the reorganization. Same reason their is no badging on the new SS's engine compartment

This is true.....all 3 of the "Big 3" have shut down their performance divisions.....not seen as a wise money investment with the economy the way it is.

Not entirely true.

Mopars performance division, the SRT Group is still active and there is still some Mopar Performance Parts available for Dodges.Fords SVT group is still active and producing components.

GM did however shut down their Performance Division, which is a damn shame.

But they are still offering GMPP upgrade parts...

I know they cut "performance" models such as HH SS, Monte Carlo SS and 1500 SS, etc, but the performance parts are still available, correct? Just not listed on the site

The only one that you can buy is the exhaust and it never was an LPO. The intake and the headers were scraped and are being redesigned due to poor performance of the original designs.

So I take it that the headers are a long way off?

You would be better off looking at some of the great aftermarket pieces

That's kind of a bummer. Was hoping for a nice, rumbling, completely numbered Camaro... Maybe by the time I order mine

You can still find GM Performance Parts off of the GM Corporate Website.

Also, they are still showing the Camaro Parts Catalog. Although, I imagine this needs some pretty significant upgrading sincethe CAI Kit, Hurst Shifter, and Shortie Headers are not out.

GMPP may not have a link on chevrolet.com, but GMPP isn't shut down. I cannot imagine this division being shut down. I bet GM makes plenty of money from this division. GM sells a lot of Chevy crate engines to say the least.

Anytime my friend! Any time!

I am still trying to decide whether to wait for the GM "Approved" Hurst Shifter or go with one direct from Hurst. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!
