Hey dude, I saw you wanted to order from Springfield. I called Pinegar Chevrolet in Republic some time ago and they confirmed that they will not sell the Camaro over MSRP. So you might ask them if they have a white SS in stock. Of course you will want to confirm that they are still honoring MSRP. If you go to Big Lot Reliable Chevrolet in Spfld, they will ORDER at MSRP for you but all their lot cars have a 7-8K "adjusted market value".

yea man WALK. they cannot make you take it if its not what you ordered, and by law they have to return your refund no matter what. if you can wait, that's a big if, i'd say go order another, get a dealership that honors your military disc., and get that 22g's for your trade in. don't compromise, that dealer is OBVIOUSLY trying to strongarm as much as possible out of you. dont give them the satisfaction of a single penny. make them wish they hadn't pushed so hard and maybe that 'game' will someday evolve.

Show up in Class As during peak business hours and make a stink, get your money and LEAVE!

Make sure everyone there knows they are screwing over a member of our military.

Anything you ever do from now on, get it in writing. It saves you and them from mis-communications. If you have it in writing a mutual agreement your trade is 21-22K your fine, thats a deal. Then the deal between your 2SS to a 1SS and all you have in writing is the 2SS, well thats your fault you didn't get another workbench copy after you made your changes. The way I see it you can eat the cost of the 2SS difference and hold them to the trade or walk and let the dealer have a very nice lot car.

Well i looked up the "college plan" and it was just a discount of $1000, so that sucked but i was like ok well at least that will help me out. So of course when it was time to sign the papers there was no such financing plan and my dad had to cosign for me and on top of that i didn't get the $1000 discount and they forgot my damn stripes. Its still two weeks later and i still don't have my stripes. So basically the only reason i am sort of satisfied is that i love the car, if not i would be soo pissed at my sales guy. Maybe you should look around on the internet and see if there are any dealerships that have an SS1 in stock and see what they would be able to do??

Hey the stripes are way cheaper than ordering by at least 200.00, I bought factory GM stripes from Pace Performance, 286.00 delivered and had a pro install them. Get those stripes

A good installer is capable of removing the hockey stripe set and installing the proper rally stripes. Of course, your dealer should have that done at their expense.

I'm not surprised the trade value has gone down by $1000 since you got that quote in May and now its september. However, I would have them rip the hockey stripes off and deduct the price of the stripes. Then go buy your own stripes and have someone else put them on. Other than that, I'd take the deal. They aren't going to drop the price. They can sell that car to someone else in a week.

Dealers won't alter the factory sticker. Don't think they're allowed to.

The stripes are not installed at the factory.

The dealer puts them on or has them put on. They can remove and replace them just as easily.

I'm down with the 2SS... I like it a lot and I know I'll be glad that I went with the upgrade in the long run, but I still feel the dealership should eat the stripes and give me what I was told for the trade-in.

Well, if they don't budge I'll just ask for my deposit back and buy some tickets to the Steeler/Baltimore game in December. I have a nice 08' FJ now- less than 20,000 miles, nice lift, custom stereo and every off road option possible. Plus I'll save on having to buy another ride for the winter (little does the dealership know that I'm looking at a used truck in thier lot also). Their loss. I'll order from Springfield in March.

And yes, I'm at FLW.

Walk away, and give this guy a call.
