Different waxes for different colors?

Are there different waxes that work better for lighter colored cars? I have rally yellow and was wondering if there was something out there that really was made for lighter colors to help them pop, I currently use Americana and it is great but I was just curious. Thanks

There are.

Dodo Juice is a big brand for specific colors, I believe Banana Armour is the one designed for yellows, for the most part the only other waxes are colored for dark, specifically black cars. I've read it's due to it being able to fill in minor scratches and imperfections better but I've yet to try colored waxes.

There certainly are the claims, but I ask this simple question, if the clear coat is just that, "clear," and it's over the paint (Color) how does the wax know what color the paint is? Shouldn't we be using a wax that caters to the color "clear?"

Bingo. I do not buy into the hype at all. Unless the wax is dyed, which I can't imagine why you'd want that, there's no way a wax can perform differently on different colors.

There's that new Blackfire Blackice that's dyed for darker colors if you're interested.

there is so many gimmicks in the wax area. some are better on other colors while some only on black blah blah blah
i dont buy it unless its something like the blackICE wax meant for black cars.

granted, i have used one of dodos waxes (light fantastic) and it really does brighten up the color and compliments the metallic. not a tremendous difference but a little different.

This reminds me of when people say red cars cost more to insure. Do you ever remember being asked what color your car is by your agent?

Yes, but it has nothing to do with color. The Vin itself gives info about the car, but nit necessarily about the color (anyone ever has a car repainted a different color?)

I work in insurance, trust me (I can't sell it, just make sure we do things right) color in absolutely not considered in rating.

Wasn't saying it was, just saying they could at least figure out the original color, if they wanted to.

Your wax doesn't care what color your car is since it only gets cozy with your clear coat.

Isn't Turtle Wax's Black Box dyed as well?
