Painted 2013 1LT wheels?

Hey everyone, happy new year we all survived! Clearly the Mayans knew as much about astronomy as they did about European politics.

On to my question. I currently own the American Racing Daytona wheels, 20" staggered at 8.5/9.5 inches. I like them, I get a lot of compliments on the retro look but they taking on some filliform corrosion and not to mention they are heavy, 35+ lbs per wheel. I know with this kind of corrosion you can slow it down but never get rid of it. I don't have a picture of the corrosion yet.

I thought about painting them or going to 18" TSW nurburgring wheels. Then it dawned on me that it may be cheaper to buy a set of the 2013 1LT wheels from a member and have them powder coated (I would even consider going back to '10-'12 1LT wheels). I like the shape of them but the paint that GM put on them makes them look like toy hub caps. I'm going to wait till next year to run out my Toyo Proxes so I'll need a new set of tires anyway before doing anything. And I don't think I will sell my current wheels then because it's not fair to sell a sub-par set of wheels; unless someone wants to restore them of course.

So questions: Does anyone have a picture of the 2013 1LT wheels painted dark (black or cgm)? And how much wider of a tire is safe to put on these wheels? I currently have 245/275 and would like to keep something close if not that.

Thanks everyone

Do your wheels not have any type of warranty? That's insane that a pair of wheels that can't be more than 3 1/2 years old are already rusting.

Basically. I got them last year I believe. At 19,000 miles and I'm only at 38,000.

That's a good point. I'll ask my guy about that. Yeah I was pretty disappointed to see them start corroding.

The warranty is only for a year on the paint, then another year for the structural integrity. As these things are wont to be, they started corroding riiiiight around that one year mark....

That's a shame. I was considering getting some AR Torq Thrust M's with the polished lip and Anthracite center, but now I wonder if they will suffer the same fate, heh.

Yeah that's exactly where my corrosion is, the lip and the center. The spokes are fine since they are painted aluminum.
