In all fairness, just the remote start aspect can startle people. I catch people off guard all the time with my v6 accord. They are mostly puzzled, specifically the older crowd who couldn't imagine such sorcery.

Sometimes I fire up my V8 Ford Explorer daily driver in the parking garage at work to show everyone what's up.

yeah stock my car stock was not loud at all. Even now with my MRT 2.0s its only slightly loud during cold start then i drops back into stealth mode in a min. When i had my cobra with flowmasters, x pipe, and no cats that thing was loud. It would set off car alarms if the person behind me parked too close. I also had to push my car down my 50 yard driveway and start it in the street when i wanted to sneak out at night.

"This is always funnier mind you with older people 60yrs and up as it startles them"
I'll be 60 in a week and a half. LOL. Too bad you never parked next to my Nova I sold last year. The one with open headers. |

When I see a car start anywhere near me without anyone in it, I typically put three slugs through the block, and burn it with fire until it is dead.
I'm going to go ahead and lay an unfortunately boring fact out there for all of you trying to accomplish anything other than cooling/warming your car with remote start... Nobody really notices or cares anymore. It's not some new space age technology that is making people jump, crap their pants, or think "damn, the owner of that car is amazing." It's just a feature included on a multitude of factory vehicles now. |
