not for a second. It might be a nice family car but I don't have a family, which is why the Camaro fits my lifestyle so well.
The SS is the Chevy Charger - the 4 door powerhouse for those whose familial oblications steer them away from the sports coupe.
Shouldn't this be in off topic since it's not about Camaros?

The new SS is a really nice car, and I think it'll be a big hit as Lon as the price doesn't get too close to used cts/cts-v level but if priced right it should be a good value, the interior looks really nice, and it is a good lookin car, the styling is subtle but then again it's not meant to be an attention grabber like the camaro or corvette, probably don't have to worry about attention from the police either.

I like it. It looks good enough that most will know it's quick, but not too flashy to deter any customers not wanting a Fast n Furious look. We want GM to sell as many as they can. Just hope GM offers some accessories to enhance the stock look.

That being said, I wouldn't mind having one as a DD. I would wait for the LT1 at least and an automatic with more than 6 forward gears. GM is working on one, but it's just not ready yet.

IF I get married and have 2 children in the next year, then I will try and get this car. (I will not be married, nor will I have 2 children in the next year)

Honestly if they roll out a Manual version at some point, I would probably lease one. I am typically not one to lease because I like to mess with my cars too much, but this car could be perfect for that type of deal. My Opinion is it kind of falls into a place between "Rental Car" and Badass enough to buy.

Really just use it for my short commute, be happy enough with it to have fun driving, but not so freaked out that I pass parking lots if the spots look to narrow. Three years later...Get something else, while my Camaro keeps me totally happy.

I'm going to probably hold out for the Second Gen SS SS Z28. Dealer told me it will definitely have a manual, a twin turbo LS9 on an all wheel drive platform...and get great gas mileage.

X2. Maybe it will look better "in person" (I hope). I came extremely close to buying a G8 GTP a few years back; this new car should've looked closer to that and been called a Chevelle SS.

That's not true. The impala and Taurus are family cars, this Is a rear wheel drive V8 sedan like the Pontiac G8 and the Holden Commodore. It's supposed to be edgy. If I wanted a Taurus I'd buy a Taurus.
