Spikes makes good stuff. I have a full Spikes AR I assembled from individual Spikes parts. I really like their stuff.

Depending on how much you want to trick it out, you can get the small parts individually so you do not have a bunch of takeoffs later.

Battle Arms Development, Seekins Precision and Strike Industries have some nice take down pins, ambidextrious safety levers, magazine release buttons and bolt catch releases to consider.

Or if you want to just go with the basics to start, Palmetto State Armory has a nice Lower Parks kit for a good deal and you can also find steals on Primary Arms website. Plus Primary Arms has insanely fast shipping...

Also you want to probably get a Mil Spec Buffer Tube so you have more options on stocks later. Mission First Tactical's Minimalist Stock is the lightest I have tried, but I am also a huge Magpul fan for stocks, grips and magazines.

Tons of options.

On the plus side... the rest of the parts can be drop shipped direclty to your house normally.

No more waiting for instant gratification.

Here is an interesting question... I am curious if they give you a gun lock for the sripped lower. LOL Some states do. There is nothing in a stripped lower to lock up. No installed parts. But some make it legal. If they make it mandatory, it should be free.

I have always liked JD Machine Tech. They make some great uppers and lowers. Great fit and finish. They are not the cheapest but I have always been very please with their products and fit and finish.

Mainly I just use them for uppers and lowers. They make AR's for the military but also sell to the public.

If I get a lock for the lower I'm not leaving the shop without the lock on. Don't want that bad boy going off while driving home now!

I've been looking into doing the whole lower parts separately because I want to go with a hogue grip, Magpul stock and a slightly different trigger than standard. Also excited that everything else can be shipped directly to me! Going to be a fun project

I can vouch for the Magpul CTR and STR stocks. They have friction locks that firm it up some. The STR has a better cheek weld and storage, but he CTR is nice also.

Are you going for a precision or personal defense weapon route?

Probably more towards personal defense, but I think I'll aim for a nice middle ground on the first one. Nice general build.

I've fired an M4gery and several ARs with an Eotech red-dot. It's cool and fun, but I'm just as accurate out to 100 yards with my AR-15 in 'A2' configuration, iron sights. I can't flipping miss the bull at 100 yards with that thing. Every time I shoot it I feel like I'm cheating.

I'd like to see better pics of the Browning High Power and the Browning A5 please. I like your taste in firearms. For a while, I had no firearm that was made after 1944
