Will 17" wheels clear?

As the title says will a 17" rim clear the factory Brembos? Is there certain brands that will and some that won't or will this just absolutely not work with factory Brembos? Thanks in advance for any info and suggestions.

The only 17's that are known to clear the Brembos are Weld RT-S, Bogarts, and Custom CCW's. The Welds may require aftermarket lower control arms or modification to the stock LCA's for clearance, depending on ride height. Bogarts are pretty much strictly a drag strip wheel....too fragile for street-duty. And all could be considered expensive!!!

Thanks for the input.
If I went with different calipers would it open more doors?

Yeah probably, depending on which calipers. I know if you put the V-6 calipers on the rear of an SS, then you can fit 16" CCW in the back. Other than that, I can't really give you any experienced advice.

17" Welds clear my Brembo's but I did have to grind a small area on the LCA. Took about 1/2 hr including removing tires.

Would you happen to know if the RaceStar rims would clear? They are a good looking rim and a lot cheaper than the Welds.

Racestar makes an 18x10.5 that is designed for the 5th Gen, and it does clear the brembos. But I was told their 17's will not clear the in the rear, but their 17'" skinny will fit up front. So....you'd have to run 18's in the back and 17's up front.

The 17x9.5 ones might fit with a spacer and/or V6 brakes.

I run both Racestars 17x4.5 fronts and 17x12 Welds out back

The clearance issue on the 17" Race Stars is on the caliper face and not the OD. They lack about 1" clearance. Not even close. I had a set of wheel drawings to verify this. They offer the 18 or swap the brakes and run their 15 rear.

no one heard of any issue with the 18x10.5 hitting the control arm on a lowered car, right? I saw some 18x11s hit on sux2bu's post about his forgestars.
