'11 L99 - First time at the strip - Feedback

Took my SS to the track for the first time...had alot of fun. My only mods are a CAI and exhaust, stock tune, L99. My best time was a 13.43@105mph. Here is the vid of my best run (in car gopro and w/my friends iphone - sorry for the quality and my friends narrating lol) and time slip. Appreciate any feedback for improvements or tips. I don't mind the constructive criticism

Not bad for 1st time and near stock... get that key 60' time under 2 secs consistently and you'll be at or near 13 flat. I haven't hit the 1/4 yet but on a 1/8 track my best was a 8.6secs @ 83.5mph w/ a 2.03secs 60' time... only mod I have is a CAI. Like you, I'll be working on those launches. Keep it up... fun!

Drop the tire pressure to about 26-28. Heat them up a little bit. Stall it from 1000-1200. Turn off the TC and Stabilitrak. Put it in "M". Let it shift all by its lonesome. Should make for a pretty good pass.

DA was 631 that night at 8PM. Corrected would have been 13.36 @ 106.151.

Roll fast into that gas, and race in sport mode (TCS off). You have to get that short time down to run a decent ET in a nearly stock L99.

thanks for the feedback guys!...I had it in M mode for all my runs. I think I had TCS on a couple times to test it out. Next time I will lower the tire pressure on the rears and turn off TCS and Stabilitrak. Still a noob at this but i'm gonna continue to work on my launches and hopefully tune it in the near future

Great job! Do a little better burn out an turn all the nannies off. press and hold the tc button until both lights come on. put in manual and let it do it's thing. Preload the launch. Left foot on the brake and bring it up to 2,000 rpm
you'll shit yourself!
Again great job!
Oh yeah 40 psi in the front and 26 psi in the rear! Trust me it works!

I agree with everything but the stall speed.

2000 rpm launch might be a little higher than needed. It could also contribute to excessive wheel spin issues (on average to below average prepped tracks), and I believe its higher than the stock converters stall speed. So I'm not sure you're actually achieving a stall that high with the stock converter.

Based on my experience (4 years racing an L99 A6 at the track), I'd recommend 800 - 1000 rpm brake stall with a smooth roll into the gas. I was pulling 1.90- 1.93 sec 60' times using this method with just a tune. With drag radials (stock wheels) I pulled 1.83 sec 60'.
If I tried a stall higher than 1000 - 1200 rpms or so, I'd get lots of wheel spin coming off the line.

I even used this method to pull 1.73 sec 60' with my current bolt ons setup.

Don't go too low on the tire pressure. Anything less than 30psi and you're asking for trouble. The stock tires are designed to work best at a certain temperature and psi. I keep my Pirelli's at 32 lbs and manage some 1.6 sixty foot times. Lowering the tire pressure will only increase the contact patch by fractions of millimeters and may cause the tire to "cup" in the center and decrease grip. On a mostly stock car with minimal mods, stick to around 30-32 psi and a very light burnout. Only do a brief burnout to clean off the tires, not produce a cloud of smoke.

I'd listen to this guy....I tried this exact method on my first run at the quarter mile and exactly hit a 1.9 60ft
