We have let the program know that Ppirro is a Basica and only on loan to the military

If for any reason Ppirro doesn't make it in the program i.e. injury we want him back. Once he is in service, the adoption priority is the current handler, then the foster family. The trainers and handlers tell us that Ppirro will likely remember us after his service is complete, but will be a different dog than we remember based on his service experience. It doesn't matter. We'll bring him back home.

Very nice... but he will definitely remember you all and be really well trained too.

We had to give up a dog due to military moves and a short stint in an apartment that didn't take pets. 3 years later we got one of the puppies and had that dog 15 years until last year. (Basset Hound).

Hadn't seen the dog in 3 years and when we went to see the puppies they warned us that she wouldn't let anyone get close to them. I walked in reached right into the pile of nursing pups and grabbed one up w/ no problem.
