front license plate alternative?
Hi everybody. I live in Texas and we have to have the front license plate on the front. I really, really do not want holes drilled into my front bumper but I also do not want to get tickets for not having it installed.
Does anyone know of another way to put the license plate on the front bumper that doesn't require damage to the front bumper? Surely there's a company out there that makes something we can use as an alternative. Any ideas?

You know it's the law here in Colorado as well and I've gotten one ticket while I was at a meter that was expired for not having a plate. Stupid meter maid! Anyways I haven't had one on my car since I bought it in Feb of 2003. I've seen plenty of cops and they just don't seem to mind. On my last truck I took it off and got one ticket while at a meter too. I'm not sure how Texas is but I'm okay with one or two $30 tickets every 6 years or so.

If you do a search you should find a few posts with link to companies that make these for Corvettes and other vehicles. I know holes still have to be drilled though so if you are trying to avoid that I don't even know myself.

I got my prototype front plate mount. These aren't the best pictures, but I wanted to post them up so you can at least get some idea. The back plate will mount behind the lower grill and the clear rubber bushings will keep the front portion from crushing the plastic of the lower grill. I hope to have some pictures of it on a car soon.

Here is the prototype test fitted on the V6 and V8 both. Looks like some minor adjustments will be needed for the V6, but the V8 looks perfect. Stay tuned for more info...

So here is some ordering information. Feel free to contact Doug at ******@sympatico.ca. The bracket once complete will sell for $100.00 CAD shipping included (approx $15) or approximately $92.12 USD (based on today's exchange rate).
