A Quality Car? According to who?
VERY good read, imo. Sheds some light on the quality ratings and scales that are used to pit so many cars and brands against each other.

I have a coworker that swears by consumer reports. For the 2007 Tundra, they excused problems because it was a new model. No explanation was given to the Saturn Aura which had 'less than average' reliability. But everyone that I've talked to as well as read online at various websites hasn't had a single thing go wrong with them. So either CR is a total crock, or average reliability is very good, or both.

CR is a total crock. It never outlines a single thing that it is testing specifically, and when I read their articles it always seems to me that they are written by children, for children. Then when they try to sound like they know what they're talking about (such as over/understeer issues) they sound like morons.

Good article. This goes for a lot of things, not just cars. Our media today only cares about meaningless sound-bites that kill all context and nuance. Being informed takes much more work than just listening to what the media tells you.

You want reliability?
Consumer Reports is reliable. For putting out misleading information and for being biased against anything that comes out of Detroit.
