Question Vitesse on Road Course?

Any track guys using the Vitesse Throttle Controller?

I've ignored it for a while now, very skeptical, but I could see where better throttle response could come in handy. I am tuned, but still experience lag from time to time - seems like a good tune could accomplish the same thing, but I guess not.

Please only respond if you have used it on track.

I had mine installed for almost 7 months of weekend driving and weekend autocross. Used it one weekend on the road course and it threw a code and car went into limp mode. Pulled that sob out and problem went away. Not a place I want to loose all power suddenly and have a transfer in weight or grip and run off the track. Search the forums for VTC and make your own call on it. My .02 says not on the road course, well not for me.

I wouldn't want it on mine or anyone on same track as me.

At best you decrease your ability to properly modulate the throttle. At worst, scary.

Sounds like it's probably safe to use it on the street, around town, but then set to SP0 when at the track. Although, I've heard of it sending cars into limp mode on the street too, so maybe I'll just stay away.

Less throttle modulation is never a good thing.

I have a track day on Friday and I'll let you know how it feels afterward.

I wouldn't think it's needed, you don't need quick throttle response on a track, you need all your inputs to be nice and smooth. Better to have the throttle open a bit slower than you expect than faster and send you off track.

My previous track toys have had a little cable that went from a pedal to the throttle. I prefer my modulation be performed with Mr. Righty.

It's possible to have 'quick throttle response' and 'smooth throttle application'.
