Just to prove that German automakers aren't the only ones who plan products based on what their rivals have done, GM comes out with the Camaro (WTF?!?!)--a retro-styled, two-door coupe with a honking big V-8 that harks back to the glory days of Motown. If that sounds familiar, that's exactly what Ford did with the Mustang(oh, no you didn't!). Hot on the heels of the Pony car's success, DaimlerChrysler has dusted off the Challenger and Chevy has produced a new Camaro, a nameplate that was more recently interred. The muscular Camaro concept is pure '69 updated(Right.......how many times has just about everybody gone over this?:eek

Kinda related, my fiancee was walking past a Borders Books in Oxford today, and they had Jeremy Clarkson's book on sale for half off, so she bought it for me. Unfortunately, I started reading the parts about American cars, and he just ripped into them. Then I read on and realized the book was about ripping into pretty much anything that isn't Aston Martin. So I don't take it personally. He exaggerates, but there is some truth in it. However, for some reason he states (as fact) that the C6 Corvette has leaf-spring suspension. Ummm...Just to be sure, I checked Chevy's website, and my belief was correct- double wishbone 4 wheel independent suspension, on and on, but no leaf springs. Where did he come up with that? And he goes on saying how it has never been a sports car because it can't handle, yet he even states right after that that it was the first production car to pull 1 g in a turn (don't know if that is correct or not). Either way, as much as I love his humor and think Top Gear is the best car show ever, sometimes I wonder if he really knows what he is talking about. Sorry,
