Very loud tapping for approx 30 seconds

I cranked my car off yesterday and the tapping was so loud I shut it down. Getting ready to call for a wrecker the next day I started it and it was quiet as a mouse. I saw a small puff of blue smoke the first day like leaking valve guide seals. It has 2465 miles on this oil change and it has not used a drop.
Do y'all think it was a lifter ??????? Drove it today about 100 miles runs great and is very quiet,,,,,,,,,thanks for your thoughts
